What To Beat Next · Privacy policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
What To Beat Next is a browser extension that reads your own game libraries (GOG, Epic Games, Steam), adds them to your own HowLongToBeat list, and helps you pick what to play next. Everything it reads stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to the developer or to any server of ours: we do not have one.
What the extension reads
- Your game libraries, only when you press GOG, Epic Games or Steam: game titles, and per game the store link, the Steam app id, the systems it supports (GOG) and the minutes you played (Steam). From Epic, the titles in your order history (refunded items are left out).
- Your HowLongToBeat list: the games in your lists, their HowLongToBeat time and score, your user id and the names of your custom lists. It is read to avoid adding the same game twice and for "What to play next".
- Lists you paste by hand.
- Your choices in the extension: language, filters, hours a week, the device you pick.
- The system your browser runs on (Mac, Windows or Linux), to suggest it in "Runs on". It is not stored anywhere else.
The extension uses your existing sessions on those sites; it never sees, asks for or stores your passwords.
Where it is kept
In your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local), on your device only. You can delete it at any time with "Clear all" in the extension's "⋯" menu; uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
Who the extension talks to
- GOG, Epic Games, Steam and HowLongToBeat, from your own browser and with your own session, to read your library and your list and, when you press "Add", to add games to your HowLongToBeat account. These are the same requests those sites' own pages make.
- The Steam store (store.steampowered.com), without your session or cookies, to confirm whether a few games run on your device. Only the game's Steam app id is sent.
- HowLongToBeat's image server, to show game covers.
- Ko-fi and YouTube, only if you click those links.
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking. The extension does not sell, rent or share your data with anyone, and it does not use it for anything other than the features described here.

What To Beat Next · Política de privacidad
- Ko-fi y YouTube, solo si pulsas esos enlaces.
